BIO
Originally from the small town of Timmins, Ontario, Paitra was raised on the sounds of '70s rock and folk. That foundation – rooted in rich harmonies, storytelling, and analog warmth – shaped her songwriting from the start. In 2017, she moved to Toronto, where she quickly became a vibrant presence in the city’s music scene. It was in this city she started experimenting with her sound, blending both old and new from the timeless influence of her upbringing to the modern textures of today’s production.
After more than a decade of playing in bands, Paitra launched her solo project in 2023. Soon after, she began developing her debut EP, a project that came to life during a transformative trip to LA where she collaborated with producer Tyler Fogerty (Hearty Har, John Fogerty) and guitarist Chris Dixie Darley (Father John Misty) during the California wildfires. Released in November 2025, the EP is a genre-blurring collection that showcases her range from raw vulnerability to playful confidence, while remaining a cohesive and honest reflection of her artistry.
There's a song for all tastes within Paitra's music, so sit back, put on your headphones, and immerse yourself.
